Walmart Marketplace launches Brand Highlights: what the new PDP feature means for sellers

Walmart Marketplace launches Brand Highlights: what the new PDP feature means for sellers

On October 6, 2026, Walmart Marketplace rolled out Brand Highlights, a self-service tool under Catalog management that lets eligible brand owners add images, video and text to their product detail pages. It is one of two seller-facing updates Walmart shipped that week — the other, Simplified Shipping Settings, landed October 7 for sellers migrating off Shipping Templates. Brand Highlights is the one that changes how your listings actually look, so it is the one worth acting on first.

What Brand Highlights actually does

The feature gives brand owners more real estate below the fold on a product detail page — the space shoppers scroll into once they have already decided a listing is worth a closer look. Instead of a flat block of bullet points, eligible sellers can now combine photography, short video clips and brand-story text in a module that lives directly on the PDP. Walmart is positioning it as a self-service upgrade: no creative review queue, no account manager approval chain. You build it and manage it in Seller Center, the same place you already handle catalog data.

Who is eligible, and the 500-item batch limit

Access is tied to brand ownership status on Walmart Marketplace, not account size. Once a brand owner has the feature enabled, content can be applied to up to 500 items at a time, which matters for catalogs that run deep across variants and sub-brands. For a seller with a few hundred SKUs, that is effectively full-catalog coverage in one batch. For a seller with several thousand, it means prioritizing which product lines get the treatment first — plan that prioritization around your highest-traffic listings rather than trying to cover everything in week one.

What this means for brands

This is Walmart closing a real gap with Amazon's A+ Content and Brand Story modules, which have been standard conversion tools on the Amazon side for years. Brands that run dual-platform catalogs now have a closer-to-parity creative toolkit on both marketplaces, which removes one of the recurring excuses for why Walmart PDPs look thinner than their Amazon counterparts.

  • Shoppers who scroll past the fold are already engaged — Brand Highlights is built for exactly that moment, not for grabbing initial attention.
  • Because it is self-service, there is no approval bottleneck slowing rollout, which means competitors with existing Amazon A+ assets can repurpose creative quickly.
  • The 500-item batch cap rewards sellers who go in with a prioritized list rather than applying content ad hoc.
If your brand already built A+ Content modules for Amazon, you likely have usable photography and video sitting in your creative library. Brand Highlights is a fast way to put that existing asset work to work on Walmart without commissioning anything new.

What we do about it

We are rolling Brand Highlights out across client catalogs this month, starting with top-velocity SKUs and reusing proven Amazon A+ creative wherever the assets translate cleanly. For brands newer to Walmart, we are building the module content alongside the broader PDP as part of onboarding rather than treating it as an afterthought.

If you are running on both marketplaces and your Walmart listings still look thinner than your Amazon ones, this is the fastest fix available right now — and it costs nothing but setup time.
